If I can make it through the month without punching someone in the face, I'll have earned my place in heaven. As a side note, the qualifications for entering heaven are really lax right now.

Well, it happened. I just sat through Knocked Up for film class. My life feels permanently tainted.

Life is fucking wonderful! My sister's baby daddy got out of paying child support, and my Mom and Dad are busy fighting! Turns out my dad cheated before. Just found that out today. What a swell fucking guy, huh?

If she reports baby daddy to the state, they will remove his child support from his pay check and he won't have a choice. If he's unemployed right now, they'll just take it from his pay when he does get a job.

So had an emotional break down this morning. I feel like I have the emotional capacity of a teaspoon and anything can just upset me and sends me into a tailspin of uncontrollable crying because that's the way I handle everything.

SPOILERS FOR THE KILLING JOKE ANIMATED MOVIE

Why the hell is Batman and Batgirl banging on rooftops? I mean, what? Really? That ship doesn't even make any damn sense! Why would you put that in there? What does that contribute? The internet can get that stuff done by itself, it didn't need your help.

Roommate woke me up at 4, 5, and 5:50 with his video game mic yelling and banging on something. I'm gonna be running on 6 hours of sleep for a crappy busy day.

So I wound up getting accepted into research program at school and they need acceptance by the 15th. My first inclination is to maybe not take it since I don't know how interesting it'd be, if I'd wind up getting way too overloaded, or if it'd even give any opportunities like it promises. Mom earlier said maybe it was good I got wait listed so I didn't get overloaded, but today said she regretted saying that because now me not wanting to take it means I'm lazy, not enthusiastic about anything and never rise to any challenge.

Anyone have any advice?

The only advice I could possibly give is to take a good, long look at yourself. Get really introspective. Is this something you want to do? Do you need to be challenged? Will you break under the extra workload? If you don't think tackling this research program is a good idea, then perhaps you're right. Only you know what you can handle. However, if you do back down, do so because you know the program will be of no benefit or you have no chance to succeed. Also look into whether this is something you can do later. Maybe it makes sense to do this now, rather than later if later is even a possibility.

It's vague advice, I realize, but it's the best I can do as a casually observing forumite.

I had told them I wouldn't do it, but yesterday my dad talked at me for an hour and a half about how I don't care about my supposed passion, don't put in effort and don't ever try, and finished with saying I'm doing the research program. So that's that apparently.

Less of a scream and more bemoaning my fate:

1. Spanish class will be 4/5ths subjective.

2. I apparently have to teach some kids a language for my Applied Linguistics class - the portfolio with all the lesson plans, worksheets, etc will be worth 20% of the final grade. Apparently it's 9 classes that we have to teach (once a week, starting week 5-14). I counted. Here's hoping Profesora will let me teach either Swedish or Esperanto, instead of Spanish.

Gonna be honest - I'm a bit daunted.

That sounds rough, Hec. Good luck though, I'm sure you'll be able to pull through!

So I just had my first manuscript rejected by the journal I wanted to publish in... Kind of felt like they were taking my work and stomping on it...
