Hehe - well, thanks, on his behalf. You're correct in that he's not a secondary character. I risk saying too much in trying to explain further, though.

A little of both. On the whole, it's following an outline, but occasionally something I hadn't previously planned slips in if it fits with the course of the story or helps me with characterization.

Well, they both seem to consider red to be very fashionable...and they both have an entertainer's streak, I suppose. I'm not sure that's enough reason for them to get along though.
