Apologies if this has been asked before. :)

Can answer any of these:
-What musical instrument accompaniment do you love hearing?
-If you can't play any musical instrument but wish you could, what would it be?
-If you can play one or multiple instruments, which is/are your favorite(s)?

I love the resonance a piano gives, specifically a grand piano, when played. One of my favorite artists in this category would be Yiruma. The impression I get from listening to his pieces gives a feeling of... longing.

I also love the soulful feel of a sax accompaniment. This is one piece I heard a couple years back was where I loved hearing the sax in (unsure what kind was used). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUR3rd020dQ

I do wish I could play either, though I took some tiny steps with the piano so far (have a keyboard and I used to work for a music app company, Smule - meaning I've played with their Magic Piano app before), but nowhere near experienced yet.

Art is always so lovely when it invokes emotion~ :)

I wish I could play all the instruments in the world. Even the ones nobody's heard of. But I'm not the most coordinated person ever, and I mess up a lot on piano as it is.

I play bass mainly, as well as guitar, trombone, and I've given a couple of percussion instruments a try (snare drum, bass drum, timpani, and bells). I listed them in order from how good to how bad I am with each one. I love playing bass even though I started with trombone. I was second chair throughout middle school, but I probably suck at it now because I haven't played a trombone in years. I started playing bass when I was 12, and I fell in love with it. Sadly, it won't connect to the amp anymore, and one of the strings popped off, so it just sits there only occasionally getting some attention. I have plans to buy a new one later because I don't like restringing my instruments.

I really wish I knew how to play saxophone, or as I like to call it, the sexyphone. :3

Usually I prefer the full orchestra to a single instrument, but I could listen to cello concertos for ever. On that note, I kind of wish I could play the cello, likewise the accordion.

I do play oboe, English horn, and ukulele.

I play guitar, cello, and self taught piano (though this year I'll be taking keyboard in school). I wish I could play:

Clarinet
Bassoon
Saxophone
Trumpet
Trombone

All of those I pretty well love the sound of.

I remember trying a virtual trombone app... it sounded horrible (the sounds implemented that is per the devs, but I was awful too). :p

So that's how it's spelled! Always wondered after first hearing of it: "It's an oboe lesson... not a 'hobo' lesson..." :P

I forgot to add, I also enjoy violin/fiddle accompaniments, as well as maybe learn to play one. Though honestly, it feels like a bit of a chore to tune chordophones.

Is there a band that uses all three of those? I'd like to hear it.

Let's see...Sitar, hurdy gurdy, cello, fiddle/violin, bag pipes, banjo, bass, conga drums, saxophone, trumpet, harp...

I've played the standard rock drum-kit before, trombone (not bad), trumpet (terrible), guitar (electric, I'm good), electric bass (J bass. I use pick or my thumb, not so good with fingers).

Oh look Tommy, you're someone's favorite, next to fireworks! :D

The theremin instrument... that's totally new to me, and certainly sounds interesting.

Hurdy Gurdy... had no idea that was actually an instrument, should've looked it up when I first heard it from this one comical scene involving a "translator" attempting to "interpret" languages from various countries... :p

I find the instruments with smooth transitions between sounds to be the most intreresting. Though I am a piano player, I love listening to any music for string quartet, clarinet, sitar and, of course, the human voices.
I have tried my best at playing the accordion as well. In fact, I love accordion-string duos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evtw_iAldpw).

I played the flute for six years, though I haven't touched it in a while.

I love the cello (Apocalyptica, anyone?) and the clarinet and would like to learn both.

I want to pick up the fiddle now because of Country music. You'd think more people would have fiddles in Texas, but I guess no one just keeps the things laying around anymore...

Mr. Twain said it best (and mightily described my playing!):

When you want genuine music--music that will come right home to you like a bad quarter, suffuse your system like strychnine whisky, go right through you like Brandreth's pills, ramify your whole constitution like the measles, and break out on your hide like the pin-feather pimples on a picked goose,--when you want all this, just smash your piano, and invoke the glory-beaming banjo!

Oh, I forgot all about this thread.

Turns out my sister is going to learn to play the saxophone this year.

Life is unfair. :/

I can play both drums and piano (jazz on drums, and rock/blues on piano). I do enjoy piano more than drums, though I have been playing drums longer. I realized I can't quite write a melody with a drum set, therefore I taught myself piano. =P

I feel like I want to answer this question...even though this thread died five years ago.

The recorder and alto recorder are the only instruments I can play

I'm going to be learning to play the piano, though.
