Okay, so...what do the runes say? They're not Elder Futhark, and not quite younger futhark. . . Seriously, it's gonna drive me up the wall. XD

I mean, for Dalecarlian runes....closest I can figure it comes out to: tuey umlu

Oh, so that text was more for show than anything else. It was elvish words written in a variant of the Uruk Runes from Tolkien (I know, blasphemous). If I remember correctly, it translated to "Abhorrent Face" or some such stereotypically evil name.

The link to the page that I get the text from is here: Omniglot.com.

Oh hey! Good ol' omniglot. XD

Eh, I only asked because it was bugging me and for a while I could sorta semi-read runes? I do so love Omniglot though. XD Tengwar is fun!

And hey, that's not true. The One Ring had Black Speech written in tengwar, so... [shrug]

Valid point, also I concur with the Tengwar comment; the writing looks SO COOL (on par with Sanskrit, in my opinion).

So I did two things a while back. One was write an impromptu short story about a druid, the other was draw this Dryad (who is related to the story).

Introducing: Tarufea

Thanks! Ignore the ink drops on the page; my pen exploded when I was drawing in lecture (thank goodness for cropping and editing tools).

So I finally had time to scan in my sketches I've been doing for a Plants & People course I took this last semester. It revolved around exploring the history of plant-human interactions and whatnot, so it was a little less science-oriented than I was used to.

Either way, this is one of our assignments, where we had to draw and comment on the uses of a particular Toxic or Medicinal plant. I chose Chondrodendron tomentosum, mostly because the Latin name sounded cool, but also because if its ability to cause flaccid paralysis and for its use as an arrow poison in the Amazon.

*Note: these are direct from my sketchbook, so please bear with the occasional typo or error

I love your handwriting; it exudes a really fun, enthusiastic personality! And the sketches are great, as always!

Thanks Tobi! Yeah it's an adaptation of a font I found on a lettering website (I got really into fonts this semester for some reason). Haha I certainly wish I was as fun and whimsical as the font would indicate!

The next couple days will probably be a sketchdump, so here's another one: Medicinal and Toxic plants!

Wow have I been inactive as of late. Sorry guys :( Here's some art to compensate. This is Webwood, my OC Druid-turned-Dryad with an insanity-streak. He's pretty nifty.

I have a whole teaser/backstory thing written for him somewhere in the depths of my computer too. Might post that in the future.
