You're right Graid, I accept your decision to bow out of this thread. But I believe there's no reason why you should only be active in RPing.

I'd like to thank you for the interesting conversation we were having up to this point.

Hmmm. The whole 'people getting offended because you said this and that' thing always baffles me.

It feels like digging into technicalities to find a reason for someone to be offended.

In my opinion, people today are too high strung and easily offended. Especially when it comes to something that can be as confusing as gender or sex. I believe that if people have come to the decision that their gender is something that is not the norm, they should be willing to accept that people who are used to the norm are going to have a hard time getting their minds around it and using the 'right' terminology.

I have a friend who has recently decided she(it?) has no gender, and would like to be referred to as 'it' or 'zhe' (or something odd like that).

I think it's one thing to want people to accept your new identity, but it's going a little too far to expect them to adopt an entirely knew way of thinking and talking to you.

Hi, I'm Critanium. The founder of this thread. I'd like to take a moment of your time to tell you that smarticus was dead wrong.

Dead wrong.

Thank you, and enjoy the deep discussions on life!

37 out of 3004 forum users lol Not exactly an accurate representation...Not a scientific study that would hold up anywhere lol

What's relevant isn't the percentage of total users, but the percentage of active users of the forum. Is there much more than 37 active users of this forum? I'd say that's almost a larger number than I've seen about lately.

See, the origional theory is that 80% of the forum isn't female. :P So! If you want to be scientific, you have to get the gender of ALL of the forum. Impossible, yes. But even a proper sampling and not 1.8% of the forum would work.

And yeah, I do know it's impossible to get such a large number to comment on the thread, I'm just saying that it shouldn't be labeled as boys win lol It should be labeled as inconclusive. Scientifically.

Can we not generally agree that there seems to be more women than men here. Mental headcount puts it at a 3:1 ratio which is prolly a bit off but there still seems to be more of a mon to won balance going on.

Out of the people I talk to and have talked to/rp'd with through my history here, I'd say there really seems to be more women then men around.
