I like both, but I absolutely love cats.

I've been cat scratched and dog bitten (in play) more times than I can count. I'm just an animal person.

Is there a way to keep cats from vomiting all over everything?

My cats have never vomited on anything. My dogs, on the other hand...

No, there isn't. Not that I've discovered anyway.

Feed them something else.
The food you give them might be wreaking havoc on their stomach.
Hell, they could be allergic.
Maybe some fresh chicken or beef.

Well, they are not my cats, they are my roommate's cats, she insists that vomiting all over the place is standard cat behaviour and roommate 2 agrees (and rubydoc confirms?). She also believes their food it perfect because a zoologist or something recommended it so I doubt I can convince her to change it. But I do wish the cats would stop vomiting on things. How is it normal for any creature to empty the contents of its stomache every time it eats?

There could be something in the food that those particular cats may be sensitive/allergic/unable to digest. They could also possibly be sick or maybe find their environment to be stressful in some way...

Cream or too much milk can make cats ill, I've heard. They can have it, but it should just be a treat.

Well, I guess I will work on convincing my roommate that they need different food; she seems to think this is normal, though.

^What are you feeding them exactly? Like brand and food type. If it's all wet food, then that would probably be the culprit. We feed our cat mostly dry-food, with a little bit of wet food every day. If this isn't it, then I would suggest taking them to the vet, there might be an underlying problem other than just food.

My cats don't vomit all the time, but when they do they do so wherever they like.

I like both cats and dogs (and have had both) but I lean more towards being a ferret person. I do like that cats are much more independent than dogs and more chill.

if the cats are vomiting more than once or twice a month, it's usually a good idea to take them to a vet or change their diet. also, the older a cat is, the more likely it is to vomit often. try wet cat food.

The food is dry, brand is "Natural Balance", and I have a terrible conception of time so I am not sure how often a month they vomit but it seems like more-than-any-creature-should.
